Halloween English Camp 2021
For the first time in the tradition of the annual GEC* English Camp, we held a special Halloween-themed event.
Everyone joining the camp had to wear a costume mask and assume an undercover name. On entering the Zoom meeting, we were astonished by all the imaginative and exciting costumes. You couldn't tell who was a teacher and who was a student, who was Japanese and who was not, so everybody could talk to everybody else on an equal footing.
The participants learned something about Halloween traditions and shared their experiences of how Halloween is celebrated in different countries, including the scary and spooky tradition of the Haunted Houses in the US.
The camp activities included funny, confusing, and scary games. Several conversation rooms were set up, but the most popular room was the one where the participants could finally take off their masks!
At the end of the day, the winner of the best costume contest was announced. Which one do you like the most?
